Worship
St. Michael’s Church celebrates two services
of worship including Holy Eucharist on Sunday mornings at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m.
St. Michael’s offers many options for
worship participation for children, youth and adults. Through the acolyte
program, youth and adults, ages 9 and above, help to lead worship as torch
bearers, banner bearers, crucifers, and servers at Holy Eucharist each Sunday.
In the altar guild, teams of women prepare the sanctuary for worship each week.
People with a variety of gifts act as ushers, readers, intercessors, and chalice
ministers at each service of worship. The Lay Eucharistic Ministry program
trains members to take Holy Communion to those of our parish who are ill or shut
in.
Third Sunday Service:
This family-oriented service on the third
Sunday of each month is an opportunity for children, youth and families to
participate fully in worship leadership. This includes providing musical
leadership (instrumental, children’s choir, etc.), reading and interpreting the
Scripture lessons through drama and other formats, leading the Prayer’s of the
People, and ushering. The music at Third Sunday Service is more contemporary and
children are fully included in all aspects of worship.
