Children, Youth, & Family Stewardship Resources

As a child of God, we want your child to hear that God has given them unique and special gifts. Regardless of their age - we want them to hear that Jesus loves them just as they are. And we want them to give thanks for all that they have. As a parent you are invited to have intentional conversations with your child about the gifts God has given them and what it means to be generous with those gifts. To help you have these conversations, we’ve curated helpful resources that align with an Episcopal understanding of stewardship and generosity.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ')

What is a pledge?
A pledge is a commitment you make to God using the gifts, skills, and treasures entrusted to your care.

When do I make a pledge?
You can make a pledge year round. Each year we have a campaign that launches in October for the upcoming year. You are encouraged to turn in your pledge cards as soon as possible to help the clergy, staff, and Vestry plan accordingly.

What is my pledge used for?
Your pledge supports 100% of the operating budget for the church which is used to carry out the mission and ministries of the church.

How can I pay my pledge?
You can play your pledge using a check, cash, credit card, or stock gift. Payments can me made in installments (weekly, monthly, or quarterly) or with a one-time gift at any time during the year. We encourage you to set up a regular payment schedule with your bank or through a credit card. To pay your pledge with a stock gift, please contact the Finance Manager at finance@stmikeschurch.com or call the church office 719-598-3244.

How much should I pledge?
Your commitment or pledge is between you and God. As you pray and discern, you are invited to give generously. The Bible has numerous examples of God’s people making a tithe (meaning 10%). Depending on your financial situation a 10% tithe may not be feasible, but 3%, 5%, or 7% may be possible.

What if I need to change my pledge?
You can increase your pledge by completing a new pledge card, contacting the Finance Manager, or reaching out to the rector. If you need to decrease your pledge for financial hardship reasons, please contact the Rector directly.

How can I find out how much I still owe on my pledge?
Quarterly statements will be mailed to the address we have on file detailing your contributions. You may also contact the Finance Manager in the church office or by email at finance@stmikeschurch.com.
